abduct   

(ab-dukt')
to move a limb or other body part away from the axial line (the mid-line of the body).

the act of abducting or the state of being abducted.

to move a limb or other body part towards the axial line (the mid-line of the body).

moving a joint so that the bones forming the joint are moved away from each other.

the process of turning around an axis.

the act of turning the hand so that the palm is uppermost.
