tubal passageway in which the egg travels from the ovary to the uterus.

vein in the thigh which is a continuation of the popliteal vein, becoming the external iliac vein when it reaches the inguinal ligament.

a slow-growing benign tumour of the uterus consisting of smooth muscle and connective tissue.

fibrous joint   

(fy'brus)
an immovable joint in which the bones are joined by fibrous tissue; also known as a fixed joint or synarthrosis.

long, slender outer bone of the lower leg which articulates with the tibia just below the knee and the talus bone of the ankle.

fixation   

(fiks-ay'shun)
the alignment and stabilisation of fracture of bones. It can be internal using screws, pins or plates temporarily or permanently attached to or in the bone. External fixation involves the use of pins through the bone attached to a steel rod outside the limb.
