The ejaculatory duct is formed when the short duct from the seminal vesicle joins the deferent duct. It discharges seminal fluid containing sperm into the urethra.

The prostate gland also contributes to the seminal fluid, but its function is not completely understood. It surrounds the neck of the bladder and head of the urethra.

The epididymis is a long looping tube leading from the top of the testis to the beginning of the deferent duct. It is the organ through which spermatozoa pass, and it lies along the upper portion of the testis.

Notice that the diagram also shows the position of the rectum and the bladder. The peritorium is also shown - this is the membrane surrounding the abdominal cavity.
