3. The female reproductive system
All of the major reproductive organs of the female are found inside the main body cavity.
Only the vulva is external - this is a group of fleshy folds that surround the opening to the vagina and urethra (where urine is excreted).
The vagina is a muscular tube that connects the neck of the uterus (called the cervix) to the exterior.
