Inside the lungs
In thelungs, the bronchi divide and subdivide repeatedly forming smaller and smaller airways.
The smallest bronchi, known as bronchioles , eventually end in alveolar ducts, which lead to alveolar sacs made up of many alveoli (singular: alveolus).
